Author: Debra Killeen


Debra Killeen graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1985 and spent 15 years working as a pharmacist in numerous settings – hospital, retail, and home infusion. She never found the right fit. Then, having reached her limit with managed “care,” she transitioned careers into clinical research and writing novels.

In 2006, her first novel, An Unlikely Duke was picked up by Helm Publishing and was released the end of April 2007. A Prince In Need was released in July 2008. Legacy of the Archbishop is the third book in the series, which will run for a total of five novels. Duke and Prince have been placed on the Recommended Reading list for the Indian River County, FL school system, grades 8 through 12. Duke recently won first place for YA fiction in ReaderViews Literary Awards.

Debra attends a number of science fiction/fantasy conventions, including StellarCon in High Point, NC and ConCarolinas in Charlotte, NC, annually, as well as DragonCon. Debra attended the Vero Beach Book Festival in November 2007 and plans to attend MegaCon in Orlando in 2009.

Debra resides in Chapel Hill, NC, the home of her alma mater and the ACC/NCAA basketball champion UNC Tar Heels. She shares a home with her sister Diane and four exceptional cats – Scott, Finn, Isis and Osiris.
